Locking up all but the money.

It is a pleasure to have Blue Bossa, my "reclaimed" early 00's Jetta which replaced the mid 80's one I not only drove into the ground, but proceeded to drive said ground into 7734 Upside Down Street. It's not a mileage champ, but I appreciate the "flex-atious" power from the rebuilt engine which, in one example, got me out of the way of a carelessly backing car in the mess that was an unproductive visit to an overcrowded Food 4 Less gas station.

Gasoline is not the only money sucker. Blue Bossa came with but one key, and no remote. I operate everything from the driver door; it's far more tricked up than my previous three cars combined and yet is far from state of the art. Not far enough.

My quest to get another key started with another two hundred dollars paid to a dealership which happens to be across a side street from the mechanic who reclaimed Bossa. Originally the stipend to the mechanic was to be for the nice sum of $5-k but it grew a bit with new tires and all kinds of work which rendered Blue wonder a joy to drive. Understandable.

Back to the money game, phase 2: the key would come with a remote, and once those showed up then it was an appointment for a two-hour programming job. This came to pass an hour before this writing, but in a tangle which would be the envy of a 405 jam-up the story refuses to end. When presenting the bill for another hundred dollars plus to sail off with Bossa the dealer mechanic informed me the remote won't work because the "comfort module" is bad order.

Whenever the module issue is addressed it will be for an uncomfortable amount---more than this new key.

Many keep trying to unlock the secrets to prevent the hemorrhaging of money. They will not remotely be successful.
