Sticker shlock.

Here comes that green car again. After band practice it is time to help the first of two members of the rhythm section load equipment into their vehicles, and watching its passing before crossing back to help the second I figure it's the car for which I usually avert my eyes, with a front sticker I haven't seen.

The driver is a player whose instrument I will not disclose but yes, it is rather loud and certainly carries. From right after the 2008 elections he's had two rear bumper stickers, both for impeachment. Obama and Pelosi are the lucky targets.

I can't help but notice today there are more, and the one for Romney (no qualifiers or stipulations) sticks out before I cut off this view even as it joins my other uncomfortable thoughts and omissions.

There is something about certitude. Not having it can make stuck out chests appear as the Titanic setting out from the harbor. Historical perspective make for future knee scraping but the bauble-laden present hits the "Maybe I wish I was aboard" button with the smoothest of jabs. I have heard of people envying the hostages of the 1979 Iran debacle as the news showed their deplaning on our soil at last.

Would such envy jockey's have taken the entire ride? Speaking of such, the front bumper sticker read: "If torture works, why didn't Jesus talk?"

One: huh???? Two: hey, bud, tell your friends.
