Two thousand and seven is here. Where are you? Do you know? How about do you know where you have been? Right now I’m on my couch, without a New Year’s hangover but I’ve managed to mangle my right hand in a argument with a trailer hitch, I had admitting the trailer won, I’m the one that was at the ER and will be unable to do much with my right hand for the next few weeks…. I’m not letting it dampen my spirits for the up and coming New Year. Not one little bit. Actually I’m feeling incredibly fortunate that my bones made of lead saved me from a cast!

Perhaps it’s the structured Capricorn in my or something but I’ve never been into resolutions for the New Year. Instead I do what I’ve done every year since I could write and that’s creating a list of goals for the next year. That’s right, I have this notebook, I’ve had it since I could write, it’s ugly, tattered, and some of it makes me laugh. But every single year I do my goals for the next, it’s my way, it’s my roadmap, it’s how I don’t get lost, lose sight or lose ground. I remember when my goal was to show a little half leased horse in jumping period, and then it was to win on a horse of my own, then to teach. I remember the year I wrote the words Dark Horse Enterprises – and founded my business. That was 11 years ago, almost 12 now. And my have we grown.

Have any of you seen the movie The Secret? Do any of you know the Seven Laws of the Universe? Allow me to list them.

1. The Law of Mentalism – meaning all is in the mind
2. Correspondence – As above so below, somewhat like the leaden rule.
3. Vibration – everything is in motion, nothing is still
4. Polarity – everything has opposites
5. Rhythm: The pendulum swing manifests in everything. The measure of the swing to the right is the measure of the swing to the left.
6. Cause and Effect – there are many other planes but nothing escapes the law
7. Gender – gender manifests on all planes

So back to the New Year. What do you want to manifest? Thoughts have power, you can use your mind to attract what you want, and if you are what you think, what are you thinking today? On a final note, if you must make resolutions, make them about how you think, not about what you must do. Because until you change how you think, you will never ever get what you really want. Until next time, continue to show gratitude and assume that you have all you have ever wanted, and have a fulfilled life, and then you may start to realize just how much of what you want you already have. For now, I’m going to sit on this couch with my Ziploc bag of ice, and chicken peck with one hand my goals for the next year!
