Musings About Writing and Stories About Life

She's like the girl in the movie when the Spitfire falls
Like the girl in the picture that he couldn't afford
She's like the girl with the smile in the hospital ward
Like the girl in the novel in the wind on the moors

Crown and beyond

Nope, I’m still plain ol’ Barwnes Rhieinwen, although Albra’s consort was in the finals so things got exciting for awhile. I had a fabulous day and my consort and good friend, Li Kuang Ch’i, fought honourably and also had a great time. And that’s what’s important. Maren was our retainer for the day and my friend Donna (of Highlander fame ) enjoyed her first SCA event (she used to do other re-enactment on the East Coast) also had a really good time; I think we’ve sucked her in. Yay! The four of us went to a nearby Sizzler for dinner (where lots of other SCAdians were, of course) and spent several hours laughing and talking about SCA, Styx, TV stuff, and who knows what else. It was a long day, though, and Ken pretty much fell over on the bed when we got home. I’m still a bit awake, so I’m going to do a little work. Maybe a little writing. Maybe just e-mail. We’ll see.
