She's like the girl in the movie when the Spitfire falls
Like the girl in the picture that he couldn't afford
She's like the girl with the smile in the hospital ward

Adorable man

BH: 2712

Another rejection this morning, for an erotica story. I can’t remember which one I sent to this particular contest, though, so I’ll have to look it up.

And the ants are in the pantry now. I’m struggling to keep a positive attitude…

After my chiro appt today I hied myself down to Trader Joe’s. I do so love Trader Joe’s and don’t really know why we don’t shop there more often. I guess it feels like a specialty food store, and we could very easily treat it like our regular store (except it’s farther away, which probably explains everything). Since returning home I’ve been munching on wheat pitas and hummus and tzatziki and making happy humming eating noises.

Today has been a really good day. Check out that wordcount! I got a really late start, but then I was smokin’! I managed to track down some info on writing a book in a week. I knew there had been an RWA class about it and I was curious. I guess some of it clicked with me. I could’ve written more, but it’s 2:15 a.m. right now, and I don’t want to burn out too soon. (If I suddenly write a ton one day, I tend to be braindead the next day. Not good.)

I got through a lot of e-mail today, which felt good. I also sent out all the queries for the journal I just copy edited, so things are moving along with that. Teresa called tonight and we had a wonderful chat. She’s sounding really happy and positive right now, and it’s fabulous to hear that in her voice again. (Are you blushing, Teresa? )

Ken called just as “Buffy” was starting so we could “watch” it together. What an adorable man he is. It’s a good thing we did do this, because some of the ep was kind of scary—the kind of scary that can freak me out when I’m alone at night. It helped to have his voice in my ear. It was a good, although disturbing episode. One that seems to be moving the season’s arc along. But where was Xander? we wondered.

So then I got a lot of writing done. In between bouts, I watched the late-night eps of “Will & Grace” and “Dharma & Greg” and did some beading and made salad for tomorrow. I’m feeling terribly accomplished, even if I never did get around to cleaning the living room.

And so with that, I’ll head off to bed. See you tomorrow!
