She's like the girl in the movie when the Spitfire falls
Like the girl in the picture that he couldn't afford
She's like the girl with the smile in the hospital ward
Like the girl in the novel in the wind on the moors

Rain and shine

Oy. Bed didn’t happen immediately, and not for good reasons, either. I went to feed the cats and discovered the top of the plastic tub of food was wet…looked up and realised that the watermark on the ceiling (which was caused when the former owner installed a solar panel for the pool—badlly)…and then we realised water was dripping in from _between_ the moldings over the window as well. So we ripped off the bottom moulding and dried things off and put a towel on the sill. That was about all we could do right then. Thankfully the rain was beginning to slow a little by then, too.

So that kept us up until 2 a.m., further affirming that any wandering today would be curtailed. I didn’t go to the RWA meeting ([sigh] I really wanted to spend time with Christine and Jenn again) nor did we go to the birthday party ([sigh] I was looking forward to seeing all our Darach friends).

Ironically, it’s a gorgeous day today.

I spent a good portion of the day cleaning the living room and kitchen while watching the show on the Brat Pack, and I finished wunder-undering my banner. It’s mostly handwork from here on in.

Folks are coming over tonight—must make dinner and shower and such…
