She's like the girl in the movie when the Spitfire falls
Like the girl in the picture that he couldn't afford
She's like the girl with the smile in the hospital ward
Like the girl in the novel in the wind on the moors

Pleasing heresy

Heaven Has Eyes: 192
Redemption: 1039
BH: 61, Chapter 12 edited
exercise: 30 min bike, abs

I keep confusing the maids by telling them they don’t have to change the sheets on the bed. Just new towels and glasses, and make the bed. Really, we’re easy. Simple folk. We’re not even making enough mess to bother vacuuming.

And yet the maids still fold the ends of the toilet paper into little triangles…

Spent about an hour and a half this morning on e-mails and catching up on some journals. Because dial-up is so incredibly slow, I’m skipping all Blogger and LiveJournal entries. They take forever and a day to load. The Journalscape entries come up in a flash, in comparison. (I should e-mail the owners and mention that. [g]) Anyway. Lots of stuff happening with GWW right now, but I can handle most of it long distance, or delay it until I return.

I’m having the usual almost-finished mental problems with Heaven Has Eyes. I’m reasonably certain that it’s silly, trite, tired, and takes no chances. But none of that matters. I’ve gotten to the point where I can pretty much ignore the inner critic and move on. The One Rule that Kris & Dean had for us was “It doesn’t have to be good, it doesn’t have to be right—it just has to be finished.” So I’ll finish the story today, and set it aside, and re-read it later and see how I feel then. It has a YA protag, so maybe it’s meant for a YA market or something. How the heck should I know? Right now, I’m just the conduit.

Another story finished. A very heretical erotica story about Joan of Arc and the Archangel Michael. Feeling very pleased with myself.

I also did a final pass through Chapter 12 of BH, so that’s ready to be sent out tomorrow. And after supper tonight, I typed up notes on an upcoming story, to make sure it’s clear in my head.
