Musings About Writing and Stories About Life

She's like the girl in the movie when the Spitfire falls
Like the girl in the picture that he couldn't afford
She's like the girl with the smile in the hospital ward
Like the girl in the novel in the wind on the moors

All done. Well done, even

Everything’s done except about five minutes of handsewing! Rose bead docs are done, unless I want to add a reference to the OED, which I received from Meg after I’d finished. Head form has been covered and mask is on it. Rose beads are strung (with pale pink pearls for contrast) and put in a red-velvet-lined box. The German placket and the velvet for beneath it have been lightly ironed.

I’m not getting a call back for the job. The letter said they were narrowing it down from the people “whose background and experience more closely match the responsiblities of the position.” Um. It’s a PE job. I was a PE for 4 years. I matched all the qualifications listed. But you know what? It’s okay. I’ll live.

Oops, wait, have to sew gems onto the ends of my protégé armband.

Done. Done donity done. I plan on having a fabulous event tomorrow (Ken’s stepping up as Baronial Herald, I’m to be a Companion on Baronial Court, and there will be a lovely feast at which we are serving; then our friend Ismay is staying the night). Sunday is a GWW meeting at the site, in garb, so they can take pictures of us to post at the event when people need to find us. And then, my pets, I vote for an evening of relaxation, followed by a week of work. That won’t happen, though. I know I’ll get home from the meeting on Sunday and dive right into stuff.
