She's like the girl in the movie when the Spitfire falls
Like the girl in the picture that he couldn't afford
She's like the girl with the smile in the hospital ward

Sticky pie fingers

A Turkish Princess in Exile: 808

It’s late, so this’ll be a brief entry. It was very, very, disgustingly hot today. We spent a goodly amount of time frolicking in the pool.

I wrote an essay about Eostre for a nonpaying book, the proceeds of which will go to the Humane Society. Even though there’s no money involved, it’s a worthy cause, and there’s no sneezing at seeing my name in print.

I couldn’t even bring myself to open the summer erotica, but I don’t feel bad about that. I might be able to turn it into a Penthouse Variations story or something.

We went to dance practise tonight and had a blast. My new nickname, according to Giuseppe, is “the woman who has her fingers in every pie”. Or something like that. Because he was talking to the president of the BoD and she asked if he knew me. He once exclaimed, “Is there anything you _don’t_ do?!” Well, yes. Lots. I don’t fight heavy or shinai. I don’t do exchequer stuff. I don’t do metal working…oh, wait, yes, I did start a knife once. Must finish that someday. I don’t…uh oh… I’ve never volunteered at Pennsic! There’s something. Oh, I don’t spin (except in that once dance we did tonight, hee hee).

Okay, now I’ve scared myself.

We watched three eps of “Angel” tonight. We meant to watch only two, but the second had a cliffhanger. I hadn’t seen any of them before, except part of the last one looked familiar. Here’s some interesting info—and remember, this is Season One—The Powers That Be can make a vampire human, if that vampire has redeemed himself or saved the world or something like that. Ah HA! Can it be possible that Joss Whedon has been planning this crossover thing that long?
