She's like the girl in the movie when the Spitfire falls
Like the girl in the picture that he couldn't afford
She's like the girl with the smile in the hospital ward
Like the girl in the novel in the wind on the moors

Ken’s coming home early! Yay! I pick him up tomorrow at about 11:45 a.m. Had to push back the start of the Girls’ Night a little (I’d told folks they were welcome as early as noon to swim, sew, play games, etc.). Ken’s fine with making himself scarce in the evening; he and Rowen are going to get together and discuss plans for making new Baronial thrones. Or drink beer and watch football (not).

Had a chiro appt this morning. It felt great, although by the afternoon my neck and shoulders hurt as the muscles adjusted (“Oh. You want us over _here_ now. Oh.”). I also went food shopping, so now the fridge isn’t entirely bare. I’m making nachos for the party, and a caesar salad if we have an actual dinner (depending on how many people are here at dinnertime. I was thinking of making spagetti, or ordering pizza). I should have bought avocados to make guacamole, because now I’m craving it, but I didn’t think of it at the time. Pooh. Maybe if I concentrate really hard, one of the attendees will be inspired. Hee.

Spend some time copy editing. Finished the Amenities Booklet for GWW; Maren has agreed to proofread it tomorrow, and then it’s a case of fixing the errors and taking it to the photocopiers. Yay. I exercised while watching TV—VH-1 was doing the 50 Sexiest Women of the Video Era or something like that, and I found that very inspiring. (Take that however way you’d like. ) This time, unlike Tuesday, exercising gave me energy. I vacuumed the living room, straightened a few things (the house is still pretty neat from all the work I did earlier this week), did dishes. I went for a quick swim, read for a little while in the hammock, showered. Made dinner (Reuben sandwich). Watched “Monk”. Last night I wrote up a schedule for today, with times of when I was going to do what, and it worked really well. Good thing to know.

And now to bed, to curl up with Charlie and my book (a Barbara Hambly mystery—hard to put down, really). I’m looking forward to getting a keyboard for the new Palm, because it would be nice to be able to work in bed (or in the living room, or outside…), too.
