Musings About Writing and Stories About Life

She's like the girl in the movie when the Spitfire falls
Like the girl in the picture that he couldn't afford
She's like the girl with the smile in the hospital ward
Like the girl in the novel in the wind on the moors

False hope

Got up at 5 a.m. and took Ken to the airport. We got there early for once, amazingly (but it was the OC airport, which is closer). Came home and slept for two hours, and didn't want to get up again, but I did because I needed my chiro appt. Our insurance is _still_ screwed up, grr, argh.

Ran all over looking for needles for one of our sergers, and eventually found them at the Joann's around the corner. More argh. Also picked up various meats, and videotapes, at Costco.

I did some final computer work and then put the G4 in the car. Now for the good news: It's an easy fix (they tried to sell me software so I could fix it myself, but it cost $15 more than paying the Apple store to fix it), no data should be lost, and it'll be done in two days. Much relief. It's still weird not having a computer, but I'm dealing.

Folks came over for sewing, and I helped Beverly refine her cotehardie pattern, and showed Catarucia how to make a t-tunic, and chatted with Andrew and Reina, and oohed and ahhed over Carol Anne's sleeves that's she's pearling (at my suggestion, natch--the fabric cried out for pears). With Cat's help, patterned a barbette and also cut out veils for several people (and rejoiced that the peeps coming out of my sewing studio all want to wear proper head coverings, huzzah!).

Then Cat and I watched "Charmed" and I watched a couple eps of "So Graham Norton" (mmm, Linda Hamilton). Since I'm actually writing this later, I can also say that I then went to bed, read for a bit, and crashed hard.
