Musings About Writing and Stories About Life

She's like the girl in the movie when the Spitfire falls
Like the girl in the picture that he couldn't afford
She's like the girl with the smile in the hospital ward
Like the girl in the novel in the wind on the moors

Are you a girl with guns?

Writing: Cardea

One of the cool things about VH1 Classics is that they play entire videos, not cutting off the beginnings and ends when there's storyline but no music. Right now "Oh Sherrie" is on, and I can't stop giggling because I do so love the silly beginning.

Went food shopping today, and picked up some office supplies. I updated our costuming and A&S notebooks, adding new articles and dividers, etc. I started--and finished!--the embroidered hanky, much to my delight. I did some beading on the neverending cotehardie, too.

You know, I never noticed that Sherrie is wearing red tights with her all-white outfit. Or that Steve Perry dresses left. Hee.

Aiyee! A commercial involving someone getting stuck in a rotating door. I wouldn't say I have a phobia about them, but I truly dislike them and avoid them whenever possible, for that very reason. [shudder]

I worked on a short story today--the door-themed story from months ago, about which I had a great idea but the antho deadline passed. I've been shying away from it, because I don't know how some of it will work. Silly me, not trusting my subconscious. So I'm just charging through.

On a clip of Oprah, she just said, "You're so lucky to have this book to read all summer." Uhm, most of us don't take all summer to read one book...

Omigod! 1:29 a.m., I flip to VH1 Classics, and there's "Girls With Guns"! And I have no Internet access to announce this. Argh!
