Musings About Writing and Stories About Life

She's like the girl in the movie when the Spitfire falls
Like the girl in the picture that he couldn't afford
She's like the girl with the smile in the hospital ward
Like the girl in the novel in the wind on the moors

When garb goes awry

AETW: 625

Things To Do Today:

* at least 1K on AETW
* copy editing
* put away laundry
* repot herbs
* filing
* e-mail
* get stuff wrapped and packaged to mail

Plus I’m helping somebody with a cotehardie gone awry, at 3:30.

I got up at 11 a.m. today because I went to bed in the wee hours, because I got home at midnight from a party and was hoping I’d hear from Ken. As it is, it looks like he tried to IM me a few minutes after I turned off the computer and went to bed. Rats.

Tani’s birthday party was fun. Amy came with me, despite a headache, and I hope she had a good time. At any rate, it was fantastic to hang out with her. We both want to do it more often, and are considering a standing Friday-night hang-out session.

During the day yesterday, I went to Festival of the Rose, which is an arts event for the Queen. It was pretty small, largely because it’s the weekend before Estrella and most people can’t plan ahead. ;-P I put some rose beads in the People’s Prize competition. I had no illusions of winning; PPs are won by flashy things that obviously took a lot of time and effort and skill. And that’s fine.

The Cliff Note Players did a laugh-‘til-you-pee play about the Brady Bunch, with a sub-skit of “Knight Eye for the Laurel Guy”. That was worth the price of admission! At least three cooking guilds got together and made an astonishing amount of food (for a $5 donation, all of which was then presented to the Queen for the fund of Her choice).

What I’ve accomplished so far today:

* copy edited
* got stuff wrapped and packaged to mail
* talked to Ken several times
* watched a little TV
* helped with cotehardie issue (turned out to be minor)

Herb re-potting will wait until tomorrow. I’ll still work on filing, and get the laundry put away. And I’ll write, dammit!

Tomorrow I have to take Eostre to the vet by 8:30, so I’m going to head out for the day, run errands, and try to get to B&N early enough to get a table and work there for awhile. Then I have lunch with Mom at noon, leaving my afternoon free to copy edit, repot herbs, etc.

Filing mostly done. Filing system still needs major work, but that’s not on the schedule right now.

Writing done, ‘though I didn’t hit 1K. Tired. I think laundry will wait another day, too. Must sleep now… Sorry for the dull entry, pets!
