She's like the girl in the movie when the Spitfire falls
Like the girl in the picture that he couldn't afford
She's like the girl with the smile in the hospital ward
Like the girl in the novel in the wind on the moors

Kiss and run shrieking

Lovely day. Went to Altavia Anniversary, which was actually three, three, three events in one: Anniversary, Altavia Equestrian Championship, and Kingdom Sciences Day (the latter being run by my darling Meglet). I had a talk with some folks about an issue I mentioned here a while back (no details, sorry), and it went very well, and hopefully things will get completely sorted when we get back. I played a Human Latin Scrabble Game, but as we left before closing court, I didn’t turn in my results. I think I had a good chance of winning, but no matter.

We came home, and Ken put fresh oil in the bike whilst I showered, and then we dashed off to his mom’s birthday party. It was pleasant; mostly folks we didn’t know. Brother Steve and wife Joelle showed up with kids in tow (their three boys plus a friend), and variously Steve or Dennis or Ken would take them to the park. I amused myself by threatening to kiss the friend (Sarah—his name was Chance! But he was not blond.), and he would shriek and run. Huh. That’s never happened before, a guy running when I tried to kiss him.

Now we’re home, and tired, so to bed soon, for an early rise, final packing, and getting on the road. I don’t know when I’ll be able to post again, but I’ll keep a trip journal as best I can. Be good while I’m gone, pets—don’t do anything I wouldn’t do (which leaves you open to an awful lot, actually…).
