Musings About Writing and Stories About Life

She's like the girl in the movie when the Spitfire falls
Like the girl in the picture that he couldn't afford
She's like the girl with the smile in the hospital ward
Like the girl in the novel in the wind on the moors

Only the food is fast right now

Although I did accomplish things today, it still feels like a vacation or something. The cotton batting is gone, but things don’t seem entirely real. I guess partly because it’s a holiday weekend, which means less mail, less e-mail, etc. I couldn’t do normal Monday-type things such as make dentist appointments or the like. We have also lost all interest in cooking (not that we had much to begin with). In the past three days, we have ordered pizza twice, ordered Thai twice, and eaten out once. That’s really pathetic.

Anyway, I finished reading one ms, and am halfway through the second (it’s a lot shorter and moves much more quickly). After that, I have 7 partials to read plus one to re-read. Those should go swiftly, I expect. For the workshop, I also still have to watch the first six eps of “24” and read a book on writing, which I actually started some time ago.

We’ve also watched more season 2 “Angel”, and gone swimming.

I’m getting cranky and antsy because I haven’t actually written anything recently. I need to pick a project and play, maybe tomorrow.
