Musings About Writing and Stories About Life

She's like the girl in the movie when the Spitfire falls
Like the girl in the picture that he couldn't afford
She's like the girl with the smile in the hospital ward
Like the girl in the novel in the wind on the moors

Thinking ahead (ack)

I signed up for three OCW workshops for next year:

* The March Novel Workshop
* The Denise Little Workshop (I’ll be staying the week in between those two to write and get feedback on various things)
* The Kris Rusch/Gardner Doizois-led Short Story Workshop

I’m planning on at least one more Novel Workshop, but can’t decide between September and November yet. I just don’t know what will be happening then! If I do November, there’s a workshop the weekend before it—one I’ve already taken, I think, but I could probably go up just after that previous workshop and stay for most of the week.

Ideally, I suppose, I’d like to do them both! but I have no idea what novels I’ll be working on yet. It may depend on some of the work I’m doing now. Ack. Thinking ahead. Ack.

I keep trying to type “October” in my dates. That’s scaring me. (Although yesterday, signing the umpteenth piece of house paperwork, I wrote “Nov”.)

Has anyone out there seen both “Local Hero” and “Neverwhere”?

I didn’t get up in time to go to B&N. I didn’t sleep well (among other issues, Charlie crawled on top of me every time I rolled over).
