Musings About Writing and Stories About Life

She's like the girl in the movie when the Spitfire falls
Like the girl in the picture that he couldn't afford
She's like the girl with the smile in the hospital ward
Like the girl in the novel in the wind on the moors

Final GP...

My final GP is finished and at the copy shop! I have mixed feelings, of course. I hate not being able to finish out my full 2-year tenure; even though there are two strong candidates, both poised to take over, I feel like I’m leaving the Barony in the lurch because I didn’t do what I initially said I would do. Sigh. But on the other hand, I’ve realised that having been both a local and Kingdom Chronicler, the local job’s gotten kind of…boring. Been there, done that, know I can do it and do it well and on time. Not a challenge anymore. Which isn’t to say I wouldn’t do it again, but it’s not high on my list.

The two potential new Chroniclers—there’s going to be some sort of committee meeting at some point to decide between the two—are probably coming over tomorrow to help with mailing stuff and chat about the office. Even if I can’t really train someone, I feel good that I’ll have face time with them. And I’ve written a “how to” to go with the style guide.
