Musings About Writing and Stories About Life

She's like the girl in the movie when the Spitfire falls
Like the girl in the picture that he couldn't afford
She's like the girl with the smile in the hospital ward
Like the girl in the novel in the wind on the moors

Weekend plans

We’re away for the weekend. Tonight we’ll stay with Ken’s mom, and hopefully have supper with his brother and sister-in-law and nephews. On the way down, we’re stopping at [shudder] the Store That Shall Not Be Named Because I Swore I’d Never Go There (they seem to have cheap, reasonable bookcases. Damn them.) and a few other places. Tomorrow is Collegium, at which I’m taking, among other classes, a 4-hour course on tablet weaving for inkle weavers. Directly after classes end, we’re shooting off in the direction of Phoenix, staying somewhere for the night, and meeting Helen Sunday morning to drive together to the Styx concert. We’ll stay with her Sunday night, and come home either Monday or Tuesday, depending on what distracts us along the way.

I’ve got some major writing stuff to do (an overdue story to send, and I’ve been given the green light to send two WfH proposals to an editor, so I want to give those a final review before I print them), so I’m taking Afalwen and a car charger. With luck, I’ll also be able to catch up on our life in the last week or so. It’s been mostly schlepping and upacking, but there’s been some fun stuff in there as well!
