Musings About Writing and Stories About Life

She's like the girl in the movie when the Spitfire falls
Like the girl in the picture that he couldn't afford
She's like the girl with the smile in the hospital ward
Like the girl in the novel in the wind on the moors

Bits and pieces

In Her Hands, words written: 538
In Her Hands, words total: 7177

Ran errands this afternoon: Lowes (our acorn and oak leaf house numbers had arrived!), Home Depot, a gardening store, and finally the storage unit for plant pots large and small. It was darkening by the time we got home (it had been grey and drizzly all day anyway), so I’ll have to work on potting all the herbs tomorrow, after we get back from Ojai.

We’re going up there to get custom seats made for the bike. We’ll be sitting there for several hours, so of course I’ll be taking Afalwen and getting as much written as possible. It will really help to be away from the house and its varied distractions.

I packed away the Halloween decorations, but we’ll keep out the autumn ones until after Thanksgiving, when we can start on Yule. :-) It’s nice to have a house big enough to put out proper decorations.

In other news, the upstairs bathroom light has died, leaving us with a nightlight until Ken can figure out what needs to be done to fix it. Thankfully we have a reasonable idea of what’s where up there, but we’ll have to remember we can’t take showers after dark, at least not easily.

Not as much writing as I’d hoped, but I got a late start once again. My goal is to break 10K tomorrow. Wish me luck!
