Musings About Writing and Stories About Life

She's like the girl in the movie when the Spitfire falls
Like the girl in the picture that he couldn't afford
She's like the girl with the smile in the hospital ward
Like the girl in the novel in the wind on the moors

Report from beneath the moon

I guess I’m sick. My throat feels mildly swollen, anyway. I finally decided not to risk infecting Eleyn’s baby, much less Eleyn’s toddler, Eleyn herself, and anyone else at the soap-making workshop. However, seeing as Morgana’s still sick and isn’t going, and Albra just had to back out, there will be a make-up session.

So Ken and I have rented “Underworld” and “Van Helsing” (a double-feature we’ve been wanting to do), and we’ll have tomato soup and grilled-cheese sammiches for lunch, and pudding, and we bought Friday’s wings and mozzarella cheese sticks for supper.

Not that I’m going for comfort food or anything…

So I’m going to spend my day under my moon blanket in the media room, watching TV and movies, catching up on e-mail, and even writing if/when I have the energy.

<><><>

My day pretty much went as I predicted, only without any writing and almost no e-mail. “Underworld” was okay, but there was nobody to root for. “Van Helsing” was a blast. Carl (Van Helsing’s friar sidekick) was played by the actor who was Faramir! Bizarre! And I still don’t entirely get this Hugh Jackman thing. He’s much better with the long hair, but I much preferred Dracula himself, or even better, Velkan. Mmmmm. Anyway, a much better movie than the first, IMO.

During the day, I also watched the latest “Enterprise” and “Inside the Actor’s Studio” with Johnny Depp, and did some cross-stitch. Slow day. But that’s okay. I pulled the sofa out, and the kitties lounged with me, and it was good.
