Musings About Writing and Stories About Life

She's like the girl in the movie when the Spitfire falls
Like the girl in the picture that he couldn't afford
She's like the girl with the smile in the hospital ward
Like the girl in the novel in the wind on the moors

Tool user

We lost power for about two minutes tonight. Ken wasn’t home; I was downstairs working. I actually used the laptop to light my way upstairs to find a flashlight. Heh. I am a tool user.

My Magic: The Gathering proposal suffered a huge setback today when I found out they’ve completely destroyed the place where I was setting it. But I think I can write around it, and I’m stubborn enough to keep trying. It’s been a tough writing day all around, though. No ideas for another antho story I should be working on, etc. I went to Borders today to look at some M:TG info and it was no help at all. Ah well. Everyone has off days, and I shall persevere and triumph.

Ken’s mom is coming for a brief visit this weekend, but I’ll try to get some writing done as well. At least get to the final critique I owe, and do some editing. It’s all part of the process. And Mom’s visit will be fun—we’ll decorate the tree, walk through the Historic District a few streets over to see the lights and decoration display, and go to a Solstice cookie party that a friend is hosting.
