Musings About Writing and Stories About Life

She's like the girl in the movie when the Spitfire falls
Like the girl in the picture that he couldn't afford
She's like the girl with the smile in the hospital ward
Like the girl in the novel in the wind on the moors

Drip...drip...

I am not panicking. I am not panicking. I am not panicking.

Crap, it’s not working.

The story isn’t done. I shouldn’t have gone to the costuming workshop at Morgana’s today, but I didn’t realize that until too late. We also went up for a walk-through of the Black Oak Lodge site with the Head Cook, which is a 1.5-hour drive each way. We got back, went back out to get dinner because we were starving, and when we got back from that, I was already exhausted. I worked on cleaning out the In Box (which must be done before I leave Thursday morning), paid bills (which was on the To Do list for tomorrow, but seemed better to do now), etc. I wanted to get to bed by 10 p.m. so I could get up stupidly early and write before I left for work, but it’s 10 p.m. and I’m so stressed that I’m nauseous. If I go to bed, I’ll just lie there and fret. So, some TV, and then bed. TV and a glass of wine.

So. 3 days of work, with an hour commute each way. 1 chiro appt. 1 story to finish writing by Wednesday at the absolute latest, the earlier the better. 20 short stories to read by Friday noon. 7 novel proposals (50 pp each plus however long the synopses are) and 2 full novels (plus synopses) to read by the following Friday. Guess I won’t be doing as much writing during my planned writer’s retreat as I’d hoped.

Oh yeah, I’m just fine.

Hark, was that the sound of sarcasm dripping?
