Musings About Writing and Stories About Life

She's like the girl in the movie when the Spitfire falls
Like the girl in the picture that he couldn't afford
She's like the girl with the smile in the hospital ward
Like the girl in the novel in the wind on the moors

And you're foolin' yourself...

Words Written: what’s that?

Happy April! I don’t celebrate April Fool’s, because I’ve never liked having jokes played on me. I’m likely to look at Ken when he gets home tonight in all seriousness and tell him I’m pregnant, and then we’ll both laugh relieved laughs. This isn’t an April Fool’s. It’s how I try to shock him out of hiccups. I can never do it with a serious face. I’m a bad liar overall, and I don’t think that’s a bad thing.

So anyway, no April Fool’s here. No “I’m quitting writing and running off to Tibet,” no “I’m pregnant and we’re moving to a smaller house,” no “I sold a novel!” Although if that latter thing happens, it would be awfully nice.

Came home to a rejection from RoF. They weren’t fooling either.

Ken’s home! Hurrah! Time for pizza and TV and snuggling.
