Musings About Writing and Stories About Life

She's like the girl in the movie when the Spitfire falls
Like the girl in the picture that he couldn't afford
She's like the girl with the smile in the hospital ward
Like the girl in the novel in the wind on the moors

Where are the Ts?

Words Written: “Valentine”: 1029

I had a headache last night and was truly wiped out. So I modified my 2pp/day plan, went to bed early, got up early today, and wrote. Tonight’s writing will be today’s words. It may not be sticking to the letter of the law, but it’s my law, and I feel satisfied that I met my goals.

Of course, I didn’t work on AETW like I should have. I was still headachy and tired, and the scene I’m working on is a “should we go to war” conversation that just needed a different type of brainpower than I had. So I started a story for a Valentine’s Day-themed romantic lesbian erotica anthology. I’ll finish it this weekend. I went from no ideas to the whole idea, and wrote 500 words, so it was a very productive morning.

Unpacked many more books in the library/office, and realized I have to wait for the extra shelves before I can continue, because all of the romances have to go into an entirely different bookshelf. Also, a box of Ts are missing. I know I have more Tolkein!

Then I sat down to write, and expected only 500 words because I’d promised to curl up and watch TV with my honey…only to look up and realize I was closing in on 1K and wanted to hit that goal. Probably only another 500-1000 words on that story (minimum for the antho is 2K, and why do lots more work for a flat fee payment?), and then I’ll let it sit for a day, review it, and get it out for critique. And then more work on AETW!
