Musings About Writing and Stories About Life

She's like the girl in the movie when the Spitfire falls
Like the girl in the picture that he couldn't afford
She's like the girl with the smile in the hospital ward
Like the girl in the novel in the wind on the moors

Doing, doing, done

Words Written: DFL: nada

Only one other person in the carpool today, so no writing. It’s a bright, sunny day. The downside of bright, sunny days is that when I get to work, I have to close my blinds for the morning.

Shire meeting last night. Got there as quickly as I could from work, but still late, which sucked. Afterwards, a bunch of us went out to dinner at Friday’s, which was fun, but took forever. Got home at 10:20 p.m., and given that I have to be asleep at 10:30 p.m. to get a full 8 hours… Well, let’s just say I didn’t get a whole lot done last night. Thank goodness for the weekend.

I need to make a list of what I need to accomplish this weekend. It won’t be as much as I originally planned, since Ken will be home and I want to spend some quality time with him (which now includes dinner and Kingdom of Heaven with Kelvin, Debbie, & Ismay). But he’s planning to go his mom’s on Sunday, which will give me some uninterrupted time. I also have a hair appt on Saturday, finally.

To Do:

  • read AETW crits, makes notes on things to change
  • go through anthology list—work on new stories
  • edit Chapter 1 of DFL
  • read/critique Phaedra’s Brava novella (at first glance, I can say that it looks really, really good!)
  • e-mail
  • stock up on food for coming weeks (includes scrubbing out fridge in garage)
  • call sister to wish her Happy Birthday (couldn’t do it during the week, given work hours)
  • call mother on Mother’s Day
I’m sure there’s more, but I’ll figure it out later.
