She's like the girl in the movie when the Spitfire falls
Like the girl in the picture that he couldn't afford
She's like the girl with the smile in the hospital ward
Like the girl in the novel in the wind on the moors

Blessed Samhain

Words written: tour bus: 921

Blessed Samhain, everyone!

No time to talk about the party-ful weekend, or our departmental “Alice in Wonderland” today (I was the Red Queen, of course. Off with their heads!) or much of anything else, really. The latter was amusing, and much needed for morale. The former parties (Lynn’s birthday with a 1950s theme, in the Pierpont Inn’s 1950s-themed suite; and Morgana & Brian’s Goth Tea Party) were quite wonderful.

Tonight I went to Morgana and Brian’s for their laid-back open house and ritual. As part of it, we each draw a Tarot card for a sense of what the coming year will bring. I drew the Four of Pentacles. Make of that what you will. I think I need to meditate on it some.

The above wordcount comprises yesterday and today, today being getting up half an hour early to work. Hideous, but necessary. And as Scarlett said sagely, tomorrow is another day…

And may the New Year find you in good health, good spirits, and surrounded by those who encourage both.
