Because the production manager will arrange to have flowers sent on behalf of the band to the funeral of a fan’s mother.

Because one of the guitar techs will come outside to the line and ask whose mother died, take a sympathy card for the crew to sign, and then, when returning the signed card, thank me for giving them the opportunity.

Because Ricky, after trying twice to toss me a pick (using his patented kick-it-with-the-side-of-his-boot maneuver) and watching me dig on the floor, in my bag, and in my cleavage and fail to find one of the picks, will come to the edge of the stage, lean over, and hand me a damn pick.

Because my cleavage has the power to mesmerize every band member and compel them to give me things. Even the gay one.

Because the three-song encore of “One Way Out,” “I Don’t Need No Doctor,” and “Renegade” kicks such major ass that I’ll be buzzing for days.

Because Tommy will lie flat on the stage and stretch out his guitar so people can play it, including an older woman who was over the moon. Because he will go back and kiss the woman’s hand.

Because Lawrence is that limber.

Gods, I love this band.
