SuperDroll Weekend

Well, like a good, red-blooded American male I watched the SuperBowl yesterday, and was dutifully bored to tears. I hadn't watched an NFL game all year, and I wish I still hadn't.

Even Madden and Michaels admitted the play was lame, but adding to that I haven't really cared about football for years. Ah well.

And the commercials? Well, I want to know who the genius was that actually convinced people to tune into the SuperBowl to watch the commercials. Whoever he or she was, they need to be doing PR for the U.S. overseas.

I thoroughly enjoyed the beer, chips and queso I was eating throughout the SuperBowl, but I have a sneaking suspicion that they would have tasted just as good if I'd been watching, say...C-Span. Okay, maybe not. But still, my enjoyment of the refreshments had little to nothing to do with the actual football.

And oh yeah, in case you were one of the three Americans who resisted the cumulative societal peer pressure, Tampa Bay won.
