As expected, Saddam and his kids aren't planning on leaving in order to avert war.

Saddam's son Odai had this suggestion:

Saddam's elder son, Odai Hussein, calling Bush "unstable" and saying he "should give up power in America with his family," flatly rejected the idea of exile and warned that a U.S.-led attack will force Iraq to broaden the war against the United States.

Again, Saddam has yet another chance to avoid war, and he's not taking it. I don't think we should have even offered it, but perhaps it was extended with the knowledge that Saddam never would even consider it.

There's some speculation that Saddam could strike preemptively. Personally I don't think he will.

Right now it's wait and see.
