This is just idiotic:

World No 1 Tiger Woods apologised last night for saying he putted like "a spaz" during the final round at the Masters in Augusta.

His comment prompted reproach from the Disability Rights Commission (DRC) and charity Scope, and Woods's spokesman Mark Steinberg later said: "Tiger meant nothing derogatory to any person or persons and apologises for any offence caused."

And assistant director of communications at the DRC, Agnes Fletcher, said: "Mr Woods will, I'm sure, want to make amends by distancing himself from everything that the term 'spaz' conveys.

"We shouldn't limit people's horizons by continuing to use the nasty labels of the past. The low expectations that the term 'spaz' conveys are something that undermine young disabled people's hopes from a very early age.

"Mr Woods will no doubt regret that his words may compound the prejudice that so many of his disabled fans face."

Good fucking grief. If he'd said he putted like a dweeb, would the director for the National Organization of Dweebs demand an apology?

I mean, come on. Sports interviews are already sanitized and boring enough (except of course for professional wrestlers, who still shine with demands of revenge in the next cage match).
