Hello Silly Thinkers and welcome to our award winning weekend feature "A Few Moments With Dead Celebrities".

Today were going to visit a master film craftsman. One of great directors of all time Mr. Stanley Kubrick.

Mister Kubrick made several requests to make his appearance a success.

Our regular host will not be conducting the feature today but will be replaced with Harry Reasoner.

We must speak to Mr. Kubrick in a Christmas setting.

Mr.Kubrick has final approval on all visuals used.

And Mr. Kubrick wanted you to know that the entire interview was co-written by Mr. Kubrick and Diane Johnson.

So now it is a great honor to present former ABC and CBS news man Harry Reasoner and filmmaker Stanley Kubrick.

HR: Good evening Mr. Kubrick.

SK: Thank you. Good evening.

HR: Thank you.

SK Excuse me but that picture is not correct.

HR: No trouble. The one of you?

SK: I'm sorry. No of you. It should have a little bit more red in it and you should be slightly to the left in the frame. Could we see one like that?

HR: I suppose.

HR: Is this better?

SK: No Im terribly sorry. It's not quite what I was looking for. Is there anyway to get a black and white photo of you with you just a bit left in the frame?
And one of me centered wearing a light pink or blue or at least a pastel shirt and jacket?

HR: I don't know but I'm sure we can try.
While were waiting would you like a cookie?

SK: No. No thank you. Thank you though.

HR: Of course.

SK: Pardon me, but is there anything we can do with the background of the text?

HR: Excuse me. I think we have those photos you requested.

HR: How are these?

SK: Thank you. No. Not right.I beg your pardon, but how about one of you in black and white with a color border centered in the frame and mine could be a simple black and white photo of me in a jacket slightly to the left of frame.

HR: Thank you. Like this?

SK: Yes please. Excuse me.

HR: Yes?

SK: I beg your pardon but could there be a photo of a dog, a spaniel or cocker spaniel, that is occasionaly substituted for your photo?

HR: Thank you. How's this?

SK: Thank you. Fine. Now I have looked very closely at how the page is formatted on various computers. On Dell, IMAC, and Apple's made after 1991 the page is quite balanced but on Apples pre '91 and Hewlitt Packard's we are out of porportion to the text and surrounding material. For those machines and those machines only I have decided that the text
should be formated
in this style with
photo's made very
thin and placed
to the right of the
text.

HR: Thank you. I'm sure that can be done.

SK: Thank you that's very kind of you.
Yes.
I am to. I had a researcher go
to several European and American
PC users and they took
over 5000 photos of the layouts.
So I know
it can be done.

HR: In your films...

SK: Excuse me.

HR: Yes of course.

SK I believe we
were discussing
the background.

HR: Yes I believe you
are correct.

SK: Thank you.

HR: Of course.

SK: Thank you.
We were talking abou the background for the text. I thought blue might work.
Or green.
If it's blue then

the print should be elite and three quarters of an inch higher and black.
Green: Modern. A fifteenth of an inch smaller in white.
I prefer a victorian
text with a
lot of flurries,
but found it would be
wrong for this presentation,
I prefer it
personally.

HR: Pardon me.
In many of your films...

SK: Excuse me.

HR: Yes?

SK I'm terribly sorry
to interupt.

HR: Oh no bother.

SK: Thank you.

HR: Your
welcome.

SK: A pleasure. Do you
have the time?

HR: Yes. It's
2:45 pm.

SK: East coast?

HR: No
Pacific standard.

SK: Not central? Or
Greenwich Mein
time. Your sure?

HR: No.
Pacific Standard.

SK Excuse
me sir.

HR: Yes.

SK: When does
this interview end?

HR: In less
than one minute.

SK: Thank
you.

HR: My pleasure.

SK: Not at all.
Thank you very much for
joining me today.

HR: The pleasure was mine. Thank you Mister
Stanley Kubrick and now back to Silly
Thinking.

SK: Thank you. There
should be a blackout at
this point with nothing more on the
screen.
