STNews presents

This is BREAKING NEWS From ST!

Here, from STSpace Control at The Kennedy Space Center in Florida, is ST Chief Science Editor and Senior ST meteroligist: Connie Chung.

CC: Good morning. The situation in New Orleans, and other cities and towns hit by Hurricane Katrina, has worsened over night. Now, with more than 85% of New Orleans under water, water that is polluted, with more on the way as yet another breech in the levy system longer than a football field is pouring tons of water onto downtown New Orelans streets, the Governor of Louisiana is considering ordering an evacuation of the entire city. The largest shelter, the Superdome, has been without power and sewage for two days, looting along major streets is increasing, and yesterday thousands went to the highest spot on the interstate and waited to be picked up. The sight of refugee's stranded and camping along an American interstate highway is unprecedented in modern times.
But no relief came. Many of these people, lost, homeless, and sick, baked in the sun all day with no relief and most walked to the already crowded Superdome where little relief is available.

CC: President Bush announced today he will cut his five week vaction short by two days and head back to the White House to "access the situation" for the homeless and refugee's of what is now considered the worst natural disaster in American history.
