Interview and new projects

First of all, if you've not seen it yet (chances are you have, but if not, WHY not?), my interview with Nickolaus can be seen here. In this exclusive, Nickyboy bares all, just like a flasher who's hung like a mouse.

On to more serious topics. Goldric's Luck is coming along nicely but slowly. The odd scene's materialising here and there, and even though it's getting quite a bit too long, I'm quite happy with the images and language. A few comments from Janrae Frank have been quite encouraging (I'm not one to drop names, as I was telling the Queen only yesterday...) and having a glimpse at what she's been working on has been fun too.

I'm wondering if I'm taking on too much work at the moment, though. Shawn Muder approached me to write a short adventure for The Stygian. It's strictly amateur, and not a paying gig, but it could be a nice bit of practice and a welcome break from some projects that have frankly been dragging on a bit. Might get the old recognition factor up a bit too.

The brief I was given was 'Mystic Secrets' -- not exactly easy in D&D where magic is extremely formal and systematic. What's needed is something new, so the mystery rather than the actual magic is what's called for.

I'm setting the adventure in an ancient library populated by the degenerate descendants of wizards and clerics (think of the Sevateem and the Tesh from The Face of Evil only without the nice bits or indeed Louise Jameson in leather). Progress on that has been slow, but I've overcome the worst obstacle. I now know what the library looks like, and have the basic stats for the Ahgenn and the Tiveen tribesmen. I just have to make sure I make each tribe suitably distinct.
