Small is Beautiful

Maybe it goes with being a lifelong runt but I like small things. They're easier to understand than big things. I scour the internet for the smallest software programs I can find. They're easier to use. To me "less," means less to go wrong. I loved the old VW Beetle.

I like small spaces too. When I was a kid I used to crayon controls, dials and gauges onto a cardboard box, set it up in my closet and pretend I was piloting a Mercury space capsule. Cozy.

Some people build houses not much bigger than closets. I could live in one of them.

Give me a short book any day. Simenon's Maigrets were a perfect length for me.

I like short blog entries too.
