For the most part, I try not to be a political person. But, lately, it's hard to ignore some of the bullshit going on in Washington. I get the MoveOn.org updates, and this latest one is really pissing me off.

The short version is that CBS is censoring several ads, including MoveOn.org's Bush in 30 seconds ad, although they *are* airing a White House ad. This last bit is not really surprising, considering this (from the MoveOn.org's newsletter):

"Meanwhile, the White House is on the verge of signing into law a deal which Senator John McCain (R-AZ) says is custom-tailored for CBS and Fox, allowing the two networks to grow much bigger. CBS lobbied hard for this rule change; MoveOn.org members across the country lobbied against it; and now our ad has been rejected while the White House ad will be played. It looks an awful lot like CBS is playing politics with the right to free speech."

Anyway, if you want to sign the petition, there's a link on the page with the ad, or you can just sign the petition without viewing the ad.

Since I'm being all political anyway, I will go ahead and state that Clark is my favorite of the Democrats (and was even before Michael Moore backed him). My interest in him began with his appearance on the Daily Show, where he was articulate, confident and well-spoken. I did some research into his platform, and it's one I can live with, so he gets my vote in the primaries. I have to agree with Moore in that I think Clark's our best chance at beating Bush this fall, though I'm not altogether certain the Presidential race isn't already fixed by the Republicans. I will try to remain optimistic that it isn't, though it's difficult to at times.

Ok, so, there's a smattering of my political beliefs at the moment. If you violently disagree or think I got something wrong, just be gentle in the comments section, ok? It's my birthday after all :-)
