That Writing State of Mind

I've been in an excellent writing mood lately. I'm writing pretty much every day in my Moleskine while riding the BART train to and from work, or to the gym. This morning I actually tried to write and walk at the same time while I was going from BART to the office, but I quickly discovered that it's pretty much impossible (I read and walk all the time, so I figured it was worth a try to attempt writing), and that those red lights that seem forever to wait through when I'm not doing anything are over far too quickly when I'm trying to write during them. Ah well.

Tim and I have discovered that when one of us is in a good writing mood, the other is somewhat devoid of creativity. Usually, Tim has the creativity, but right now, it's mine. Last night, the little boppit tried to tell me that I had to give the creativity back, because since he sold TWO stories yesterday he only has a few stories in circulation and he needs to write more! Oh, cry me a river! Poor thing sold two of his stories yesterday! I mean, I'm happy for him and a bit jealous, but there's no way in hell I can feel *sorry* for him for selling two stories! Man!

Heh. I do have to say, though, that my fiance freakin' rocks. It's great to see him so happy; I can't wait until he sells one (or both!) of his novels in one day :-)

So, I'm almost done with the "pyro" story that I've been working on, and then I have a fully formed story idea (let's call it the "elements" story) that I'm hoping to draft this weekend. That story, the "elements" story, is due for a special project I'm participating in by the 28th, and deadlines always seem to help me get things done. Between the deadline and the creative mood (knock on wood), I have a good feeling about accomplishing these goals.

After that, well, there's at least one story (called "Gaia" for now) that I need to revise, and maybe get some more feedback on and revise it again. I also want to figure out the end of my collab with Jenn and send an outline off to her to see if we can't get that drafted. And I should probably rewrite parts of "Skatebirding" at some point. And I really really should sit down and see how much work, if any, my recovered final stories need ("WWW12", "Sick Days" and maybe even "SWF").

And, finally, how much longer can I put off finishing my novel?
