Happy birthday David and Jed!

Actually, I just got back from David's birthday dinner; Holly and I took him for Ethiopian food and, of course, most of the meal was about Aleister. A two year old says what we're all thinking, which is actually pretty useful in an Ethiopian restuarant, where the service is always, for some reason, ridiculously slow. After a reasonable 15 minutes or so of waiting at the table, Aleister announces to the restaurant, "Ready to eat!"

Hee! He repeated this at random intervals, getting louder as the other tables that were there when we arrived slowly got their food. Unfortunately, this did not speed up our service. Alas.

And when we did get the food, I was too slow in stopping Aleister's spice-covered hand from rubbing at his eye. There was a small, understandable, crying jag. Later, he kept reminding us about it, "Cried! Cried!"

He's such a cute kid.

I spent hours with him yesterday, too. Tim and I went over to Holly's and hid plastic eggs filled with candy, which we then had to point out so Aleister could find them. We dyed eggs. We danced. We played monsters. Y'know, typical Easter stuff.

Yesterday, I actually had my camera, and the batteries didn't die until I managed to snap these two shots!

Cute!
