Kurt Vonnegut just died. It's been over a decade since I read anything by him, and yet I still feel the loss. Everything I've read of his has resonated with me. He gave me the concept of karass and he summed up my hometown sucinctly: India-no-place (though of course now I can't find a good link for that last one, so maybe I'm mis-remembering who cointed that term). Anyway, he was on my list of writers I would love to meet someday. I'm so sad he's gone.
