Sunny side up, but no baby yet

No baby yet.

Been in pain off and on for a few days now (since Wednesday), though it's hard to tell if it's early labor or just cramps. Well, I've had a few real, big, clear contractions, but mostly it feels as if I am having a bad period. Meh. The back pain is no fun, either.

Had a doctor's appt. this morning, followed by a non-stress test. Things are moving along (as compared to last Monday's appt. with my regular doc., where there was little notable progress), though the ultrasound right before the non-stress test showed the source of this week's back pain: the baby is sunny-side up! He's still head-down, thank goodness, but he's facing my belly-button (and he should be facing my back). Gah! My doula told me a few exercises to try and rotate him, but also calmed me down a bit by saying that this means he has lots of good water still (which is how he can move so much) and that most babies turn on their own once labor starts in earnest.

Still, she told me to make an accupuncture appt. for Monday, which I did, sandwiching it neatly between another doc appt./ non-stress test. Poor Tim, having to drive me back and forth on Monday! For his sake, and for the sake of getting to meet the baby sooner, I hope I have this baby over the weekend!

Anyway, had to get up "early" (considering I don't sleep all of the time I'm in bed these days) this morning for these appts., so it's off to nap for me now!
