... today I got in a fender bender. With a very polite, non-snooty Frenchman who was in the country to sign divorce papers and had to leave tomorrow because his visa has expired. Our bad luck collided, is how I put it, and he thought that was pretty funny. I think.

Because he had a rental car, we had to file a police report even though there were no injuries. The police took an hour and a half to come. Meanwhile, I am wrapped in a baby blanket, having to pee, (because I was only running out for a minute) not getting any packing done while my baby is at home with his awesome babysitter, Mya.

At least the baby wasn't in the car.

Did I mention that my cell phone battery is dying, so I had to keep using the Frenchman's phone to call the police non-emergency line, which has "hold music" which sounds *exactly* like a fax machine.

Now I am on hold with the insurance company. Then I have to call the doctor to make sure we're set for tomorrow. And the cable company is supposed to call at some point, too.

You know it's bad when I take the baby and nurse him for comfort -- mine, not his.

Sigh.

Will, of course, report back after tomorrow's procedures. Just thought I'd share my continuing misadventures.
