The Flight
Previous Entry :: Next Entry

Mood:
Happy

Well, they just turned off the fasten seat belt sign, but we are still ascending... it is 2:52pm. I am still in complete denial about where I am or where I am going... I am pleased to say that so far though (considering that I have no idea what I am doing right now), I am extremely impressed with Thai airlines... the leg-room is actually ample, there is no one sitting next to me, and no one questioned me about my three carry-on bags... it may be an enjoyable flight? Where am I going again...

Now it is 3:15pm, I must continue to praise Thai Airlines... this plane looks NEW! Now I want to believe that the plane is 5 years old, and very well kept, but it could in fact be new... it looks soooo clean. Also, the monitors throughout the cabin display our flight information as we fly... so I can see how fast we are flying, what the air temperature is outside, how many miles we have flown since take-off, how many more miles to our destination, and they even have a world map showing our planes` progress on its scheduledflight path to Narita airport... very cool!!! So if you`re like me, and now you`re curious...

It is approximately 5600 miles from LA to Tokyo.

We are flying at 31000 feet.

It is -43 degrees outside.

We will be following the sun ALL THE WAY THERE (just when I thought this day couldn`t get any longer)!!

Better get going... it is a long flight and I have a short battery...

Well, I`m back, and it`s 6:40pm. Just watched Verticle Limit...why would anyone choose to screen this movie on an airplane?? Why would anyone choose to screen this movie??

Anyway, thought I`d update you on the outside temperature and location...-54 degrees, just west of Anchorage Alaska...

Wait, what`s this...oh great...What Women Want for the third time.. I mean sure Mel Gibson is a hunk, but this is a bit too much.

Lastly, still very much in denial...

Back again...Despite the fact that I ahve seen it before, that didn`t stop me from watching it yet again... oddly, I am laughing less and less at the jokes with each viewing. And to think howexcited I got towards the end, thinking they would give me an update on the miles to go, etc. No, they just went straight into Duets, the hugely popular Hughey Lewis vehicle (hugely popular amongst Hughey Lewis fans anyway). Well, I saw this one once, and that was once too many, so I am back to writting...previously concerned about battery life, my numerous trips to the bathrrom have reminded me that there is an outlet in there for electric razors...and visors too... now that I have made this connection though...that might be an interesting Springboard Module...the electric razor!?

The time is 9:05pm, and other than brainstorming about Springboard Modules, I have found a friend in denial...Denial is the name of the Indian kid next to me... no, I am just joking about the Indian kid...but that would be funny huh? No, I mean the true denial...still have no idea where I am going, but I am sure glad they keep bringing me food and drinks until I find out.

Holy Shit! Now they just went right into Proof of Life...I had the misfortune of seeing this gem in the theater, then again in the plane to Jersey last weekend, and now again...

Gotta go, falling alseep as I type...
