Iron Chef-tastic!!!!

So, I had a good job interview yesterday, and the guy who has been interviewing me says that the company definately wants me (of course, they do, what`s not to want). I am flying high after the interview, and call Ryo to tell him how it went. He is genuinely excited for me, and although he has a very busy schedule, he decides to lie to his co-workers and take me out for a celebration dinner.

So we hop in a cab and we end up at this really, really nice place called Pachon... now, at first, I was just amazed at the enormous fireplace, the incredibly fancy decor, the overwhelmingly obsequious waiters, and the extremely manicured Japanese clientel. I asked Ryo how he ever found such a place, and he said that his company did a shoot there once, and that the head chef, Pachon himself, still remembers Ryo. Well, sure enough, Pachon comes over to the table to say hello to us, and Ryo introduces me... Pachon is very humble, a bit funny, and very French. He shakes my hand and then walks off. Then Ryo mentions that he was on Iron Chef... no way!!! Immediately, I thought of Jenn, who made me promise to find one of the Iron Chef restaurants and take her there when she comes to visit... well, once again, thanks to Ryo, I did!

The food and the service were amazing! They must have brought us 8 different dishes, including a special gift apetizer from Pachon himself... I really miss being in the entertainment business... the perks and connections are so great!

So Ryo and I sat there for about 2 hours eating one of the most incredible meals I ever had, while getting pretty toasted on some white wine...(it was Savignon Blanc, but I wasn`t sure if I could spell it so I just said white wine... now that I look at the spelling though, I think I am pretty close)

Anyway, the meal was so good that I promised Ryo I would treat him as soon as I get my first real paycheck.

Also, this is good news for all you Americans who are planning on visiting me someday, and who might not adapt too well to the Japanese cusuine... Ma, I looking in your direction.

Anyway, now I am off to my third interview with this same company...
