Naked man arrested after 'biting policeman's finger'

A naked man who claimed to be Jesus Christ has been arrested after allegedly biting a police officer's finger.

Police in Orem, Utah, were alerted to William Bolick when his mother called to say he'd ordered her out of her home, claiming he was Jesus Christ.

When officer Shane Fredrickson arrived, the man is said to have become violent. He apparently tried to stun Bolick with a Tazer gun, but it had little effect.

A police spokesman said Bolick attacked the officer, biting him on the finger through his glove. The officer's right index finger was badly damaged, with the fingernail being ripped off and the tip of the bone broken, he said.

As Fredrickson drove to a nearby hospital for treatment, other officers chased Bolick to a mobile-home park in Pleasant Grove.

Police wrestled him to the ground after a senior officer persuaded him to come out.

Bolick, 44, was arrested for aggravated assault and simple assault, reports Deseret News.
