NEW YORK -- Suitcases packed with pornography, bottles of penis-enlargement pills, bank statements detailing the failures of work-at-home schemes, pseudo love letters and dioramas of deposed dictators -- this is just some of the art on display at Reimagining the Ordovician Gothic: Fossils From the Golden Age of Spam.
The show attempts to envision how archeologists from the future might reconstruct early 21st-century life if e-mail spam promoting sex, drugs, insurance and investment opportunities offered by deposed African statesmen were the only cultural artifacts available for study.
