I just finished the third draft of "Wake Up Call," a magical short story about a guy getting dumped by his fiancee, then meeting a girl who is not at all what she seems. I got some great advice when this was workshopped a few weeks ago by my writers' group, and the story has turned from something I kinda liked into something I'm really proud of. It'll be shipped off to Gordon Van Gelder at F&SF soon. In fact, I should be taking one last look at it right now. Off we go...
