Following is a letter I sent out tonight as a mass email to friends and folks involoved in some way with the publishing biz:

Hello, everyone. I apologize for sending this as a mass email, but it's something I want to spead the word about.

Nemonymous is a very unique kind of magazine. First of all, it is published in A5 landscape format, which is nearly impossible to fit inobtrusively into a bookshelf, almost forcing you to display it on your coffee table. Secondly, it is beautifully produced, with high quality materials and a clean and artful design reminiscent of art studio catalogues. Thirdly, and most importantly, the stories within its pages are published anonymously. It is through this gimmick that Nemonymous is hoping to succeed; by removing the bylines, each story must be read on its own merits. And issue #1 has some great ones, running the gamut from New Yorker-type mainstream to Spanish-flavored magical realism to Rat Pack inspired modern horror. The entire spectrum of speculative fiction is represented here, carefully edited by D.F. Lewis, a fixture in the London publishing world. And for those curious after reading the entire issue, the authors will be revealed in Nemonymous #2.

For more information, go to nemonymous.com, and then order a copy of issue #1. Nemonymous is produced by Des Lewis himself as a labor of love, and like many small presses, could use some help in sales. Issue #2 will be out soon, so buy #1 quickly: the novelty wears off once the names are revealed. Fortunately, another issue brings another round of stories in which the author-guessing game begins again.

Thanks for your patience.

I mean every word. If you're reading this, go and buy Nemonymous #1 as quick as your little fingers can write a check. It's well worth it, and you'll feel better about yourself in the morning.
