I just finished Last Call by Tim Powers last night, and holee monkey was it good. I can see why it won the World Fantasy Award. I'm so glad I'm going to be learning from this guy at Clarion.

I'll be starting The Scar tonight by China Mieville. I bought the hardcover UK edition because it came out a full two months before the trade paperback US edition (which comes out at the end of June), and also so it would match the cover art style and interior layout of my hardcover UK edition of Perdido Street Station (which was released a full year before the TP US edition).
