I got the okay this weekend from Darrell Schweitzer to send "The Old Switcheroo", the essay I wrote about Neil Gaiman's use of character reversal in several of his short stories, as a proposal to ICFA, the International Conference for the Fantastic in the Arts. If it gets accepted, I'll be able to give the paper at the conference, which would be very cool. Schweitzer said that he still wants the essay for The Neil Gaiman Reader, which hopefully means he'll accept it soon and send me a contract. Yay!

I spent the afternoon with Jamie over in Chapel Hill, and got the issue of the Daily Tar Heel with me on the front cover looking at Chuck Palahniuk during his talk. I'm the guy with the goatee directly to Chuck's left, next to his ass. It's a little blurry, but it's definitely me.

I still haven't found the current issue of Locus Magazine, though I called every bookstore in the Yellow Pages this morning. I may have to order the issue from the website if it doesn't come out in the next week.

I studied so much this weekend for the GRE that my brain has turned to tapioca pudding. I'll be really glad at around 3:45 PM Thursday when the test is over.
