Got some more work done on the novel this weekend. I worked some at home Thursday night, then took the laptop over to Borders Friday night, pounding out around 800 words each time. The second chapter seems to be flowing better than the first, and I'm hoping to have it done by the end of this week. I'm rediscovering the voice for the novel, and doing a lot of rewriting to what I've already done, but I am moving forward.

This weekend has been gorgeous, weather-wise, and yesterday I went apartment-hunting with my friend John, who I'm hoping to room with. We looked at three townhouses in Cary, then one in Apex that was phenomenal. And it's only ten minutes away from where I live now. Nine-foot ceilings, lots of windows, open areas, big bedrooms, quiet neighborhood. I really dug it. I hate to move, but since I'll have to in August, I wouldn't mind living in a place like that.

I went to my parents' house last night to return their digital camera, and stayed to watch Road to Perdition. Today was a nice bumming-around day. Read some, watched Run Lola Run with the English dub on (which wasn't nearly as good as German with subtitles, usually the case), goofed on the Interthing a bit, played some Freespace. I'm going to do some more writing tonight, try to crank out that chapter ahead of schedule.

I did buy Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets on DVD and watched it Friday night. The DVD is so much better than The Philosopher's Stone in that the deleted scenes are easily accessible, and the trivia games are more fun. Not to mention the movie improves much on its predecessor.

And of course, this bothers me to no end. Who needs electricity when you can steal artifacts from 7000 years ago?
