Woo! Jeffrey Ford is at Quail Ridge Books tonight! Woo! All you folks in the Raleigh area come on down and support the best independent bookstore in the city. And hear a fantastic writer read his fantastic fiction.

Got around 1200 words written on "Last Fare" last night (the story I'm sending to Leviathan 4), though that's a bit of a misnomer; 900 of those words were transferred from longhand to computer. But I discovered that I actually enjoy the story again. When I started it, I thought it was a neat idea. Then when I wrote in bits here and there during my Singapore trip (all longhand), I began getting bored with it and thinking it all around sucked. Especially when I was on the looooong plane ride home; I almost ditched the story right then. Then, as I was typing last night, I kept going after the last word was transferred, and realized I might actually have a story here after all. I hope it's edgy enough for Mr. Agguire.

Right now I'm listening to a CD that a coworker burned for me by a band called Dread Zeppelin. They mix Led Zeppelin's classic tunes with reggae beats and Elvis Presley-esque vocals. It's a strange combination, but I kinda like it.
